Applications are invited for the following:

Club Development Officer

(16 hours per week)

The Club Development Officer will support and develop Voluntary led Youth Clubs across communities in South Tipperary.

Role Summary:

The Club Development Worker will work as part of the WSTCYS Club Development Team to support the establishment, development, and sustainability of volunteer-led youth clubs across communities in South Tipperary. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with volunteers and local communities to promote high-quality youth work practice, strengthen community capacity, and create positive opportunities for young people to participate, develop, and thrive.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Recruit, support, and retain local volunteers to establish and sustain volunteer-led youth clubs.
  • Provision of volunteer training to support the establishment of new clubs and to provide ongoing opportunities for practice development
  • Supporting volunteers in the development of good youth work practices
  • Assisting with the delivery of Regional Events for young people
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, and community stakeholders to strengthen local youth work provision and support the ongoing development of volunteer-led clubs.

Suitable candidates should:

  • Demonstrate flexibility, motivation and initiative
  • Have excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
  • Have the ability to build and maintain relationships with local communities, volunteers and key stakeholders
  • Be committed to working in partnership with young people, local adults and allied professionals
  • Be a strong team player & be able to build, lead and develop volunteer teams
  • Be competent in record keeping and contribute to report-writing
  • Hold a Full Clean Driver’s Licence
