Description

The Farran Park Community Youth Project works with young people aged 10-24 years living in Farran Park, St. Catherine’s Grange, Kilcarragh, Williamstown Road and adjoining areas. The project is dedicated to including young people and local adults in the development of safe, affordable and worthwhile activities that can be accessed locally. The project operates from Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2pm-10pm, Tuesday 1pm-7pm and Friday 2pm-11pm. With the support of 7 local volunteers the project runs 6 core developmental groups, one peer support, one after school support and a late night drop in on Friday night. The range of activities include baking, art and crafts, team challenges, outdoor pursuits, issue based workshops such as sexual health, substance abuse, friendship and bullying. Over school holidays the project works in collaboration with the Farronshoneen Youth Centre Project to offer young people seasonal activities of full day programmes catering for four different age groups.
