Description
PRYSM is a community-based youth support initiative which develops a tailored strengths-based intervention plan with the young person involved, to contribute to their positive personal, social, emotional and behavioural development and to support them to overcome particular challenges they face.
PRYSM seeks to engage children and young people aged 8 to 18 years who are;
- Children in care/moving out of care or stepping down from residential care
- Children in the community who are at imminent or significant risk of coming into care
- Referred by Tusla
- In need of additional community-based supports/interventions to address specific social, emotional and behavioural needs
PRYSM pairs individual young people with an experienced Youth Support Worker who engages them in a process of growth and development informed by the principles and practices of Youth Work. Through building a relationship with the young person over time, the Youth Support Worker and the young person identify the young person’s strengths, interests, risks and needs. They set development goals that the young person would like to work towards and agree an approach that best fits where the young person is at.
