Applications are invited for the post of:
LGBT Youth Worker (Full-Time)
Funded by H.S.E. Social Inclusion, the LGBT Youth Worker is based in Waterford and will serve Waterford City & County and part of south Tipperary. Key aims of the role are to;
- Develop and deliver community-based responses, on an individual and group basis, that improve the health and wellbeing outcomes of LGBT young people aged up to 24 years
- Deliver the South East Community Healthcare LGB Awareness Training to enhance knowledge and understanding of the needs of LGBT Service Users
- Act as a key point of contact for training for health service providers around LGBT information.
Suitable applicants for the post should have; a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working directly with young people and must have experience of delivering training; experience of working with and supporting volunteers; ability to use their own initiative and work effectively as part of a team; an interest in working with LGBT young people and knowledge of issues specifically affecting them. Applicants must possess a third level qualification in the area of youth & community work, health promotion or related discipline. Ability to drive and having access to own transport are essential.
