Drug and Alcohol Resource for young people in Waterford
Waterford Comhairle na nOg is working on the topic of Drugs and Alcohol for 2026. Comhairle members identified that young people did not know where to go for help when dealing with Drug and Alcohol issues. Members explored Addiction through Art, Poetry and Spoken word to create an eye-catching, youth-friendly e-zine. A range of supports available to young people are displayed on the back to allow to easy access to understand the range of services for young people.
This project was kindly supported by Waterford Local Safety Partnership to print 500 copies, which have been distributed to schools and Alternative Education Centres across Waterford city and county.
The group also worked on a short film that highlighted the dangers of young people engaging in Drug and Alcohol from a young age.
