Description
Cityside CBDI provides an accessible and community-centred drug and alcohol support service for the areas of Ferrybank, the Inner City, and the Northern suburbs of Waterford.
We support individuals struggling with substance misuse, their families, and members of the community impacted by substance misuse.
With a holistic and non-judgmental approach, we offer a range of services designed to empower individuals, reduce harm, and strengthen community resilience.
Our Services
· Individual Support: Helping individuals set and achieve personal goals, understand the impact of substance misuse, and adopt strategies to reduce harm.
· Family Support Group: A closed group meeting on Wednesdays (11:00 am – 1:00 pm) to provide guidance and solidarity for families. Please contact the CBDI worker for more information.
· Education and Awareness: Tailored workshops and programs on substance misuse and harm reduction for organizations, youth clubs, schools, universities, and colleges.
· Auricular Acupuncture and Mindfulness: Drop-in stress-relief clinics on Thursdays (11am – 12pm).
· Information and Advice: Reliable, practical resources on substance misuse and its effects.
· Referrals: Connecting individuals and families with relevant services as needed.
Participation in all our services is voluntary, free, and confidential. For those under 18, parental or guardian consent may be required.
Workshops and Training
As part of our commitment to education and harm reduction, we offer tailored workshops on any topic related to substance misuse and harm reduction. These are available to organizations, schools, colleges, youth clubs, and community groups.
Our expertise includes:
Addiction Worker accredited with Addiction Counsellors of Ireland
· Certified SAOR training (Screening and Brief Intervention for Problem Alcohol and Substance Use).
· Active membership in the South East Regional Drug and Alcohol Task Force and the Harm Reduction Coalition initiative.
· Involvement in the Drug Related Intimidation and Violence Engagement (DRIVE) interagency group.
· Collaboration with the Child and Family Support Network, Healthy Waterford Network and Ferrybank Residents Community Development Group
