Here for Youth

WSTCYS Portlaw Open Day a Great Success!

The rain stayed away on Saturday 18th May for our WSTCYS Portlaw Open Day at the Community Hub (Clodiagh House). It was great to meet local young people, their families and friends for a lovely afternoon of indoor and outdoor games, fun photo booth, face painting, holistic relaxation, arts and craft, raffle and more….. The Burger Van provided the fuel for one of our highlights…the Welly Throwing Competition with prizes for the victorious young person and adult! Great work was done by The Portlaw Lads from our TYRE Project who transformed the outdoor seating area into The Butterfly Café – it looked amazing and really brought the spirit of summer. After loads of fun, the 75 people who came along headed home with a Family Movie Night Treat Bag along with information about our outreach services in Portlaw; the TYRE Project, Suir Valley Community Based Drugs Initiative and Portlaw Youth Club.

Thanks to everyone who turned up to make this event the success it was, to our team of staff and volunteers who put in the effort to run everything so well and to other services based in the Hub who generously provided access to the building and the grounds for the day. We’re looking forward to growing our work in Portlaw – after all, we’re Here for Youth!
