Carrickpherish Community Open Day

On Saturday, 30th November, Santa paid a visit to the WSTCYS Community Youth Open Day at Carrickphierish Sports Hub. More than 100 children met with Santa and told him of their wishes for Christmas, and Santa promised that he would do his very best to grant them what they had asked for!

Waterford and South Tipperary Community Youth Service (WSTCYS) has been working with young people and their families in local communities in Waterford City and County, and parts of South Tipperary, for more than 50 years. We’re very aware of the issues that young people face, and while we don’t always have the answers, we can provide the support that young people need to face such challenges and embrace life to the fullest.

WSTCYS works with young people aged 10 to 24, and is open to young people of all backgrounds and cultures. When it comes to young people, we believe that everything is connected. That’s why we support their families and communities as well. Only when everyone is supported can young people realise their potential and the whole community flourishes as one.

Slaintecare’s Healthy Communities Fund worked with WSTCYS to put on the Community Youth Day, BEAT FM had their ‘Beast’ broadcasting from outside the Sports Hub, Manor Street Music entertained everyone for the day with Ashoo’s wonderful singing, and Gracedieu Growers had a stand where they gave out information about their fabulous Community Growing Project in the area.
