A NIGHT AT THE THEATRE YOUTH EXCHANGE, APRIL 2025
A Night at the Theatre Youth Exchange, based at Woodstown, was an incredible experience for a group of teenagers from Armenia, Ireland, and Romania. For 12 days, they lived surrounded by nature and had a lot of fun.
Throughout the Youth Exchange, 35 young people learned techniques for creating and telling stories, practiced acting, and gradually developed their own script and score. The process resulted in a play that combined legends and mythology from across European countries, including Ireland, Armenia, Romania, Spain and the Netherlands —a magical blend of culture, creativity and imagination.
On the final day, they took to the stage to present their play to an audience of 150 young people at Garter Lane Theatre in Waterford City. It was a moment filled with nerves, excitement, and pride, as they not only showcased what they had learned, but also the amazing teamwork they had achieved as a group. They went home with new friends, unforgettable memories, and the feeling of having experienced something truly unique.
