Inner City CYP visits WIT

Shellie from the Inner City Community Youth Project was delighted to visit students in WIT last Monday 7th March. The students are studying Applied Social Care and Shellie was a guest speaker in their ‘Vulnerable Youth in Contemporary Ireland’ module. It was an opportunity to discuss the very important role a Community Youth Worker can play in a young person’s life. Students had the chance to ask any questions and find out about volunteering in their community as well as practice placement opportunities in WSTCYS Projects.

Volunteering is the heart of our work in communities experiencing marginalisation and disadvantage and we always welcome enquiries from anyone who believes in young people and is willing to be a consistent and reliable person in their lives. Thankfully, we are able once again accept students on practice placement following the lifting of restrictions. So if this is something you are interested in for September 2022 or January 2023, NOW is the time to talk to our Community Youth Workers. All of their details can be found on our website
