Make Your Voice Heard – EYY Event 12th December

Monday the 12th Decemeber saw over 300 young people gathered in the Theatre Royal Waterford for our European Year of Youth – Make your Voice Heard event organised by Europe Direct, Waterford, Waterford Sustainable Living Initiative, Wyi Waterford, Waterford & South Tipperary Community Youth Service and Waterford City and County Libraries.
We listened to youth activists and young people involved in a wide variety of EU funded projects. We spoke about fake news, climate action and the importance of listening to Ireland’s young people. Music Generation Waterford brought some amazing young musicians.
Kiara & Rihanne  from the PACT project  participated in an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange  in Finland during 2022  and spoke about their experience and the impact the exchange had on them.
Saoirse & Grace from Waterford Comhairle spoke about their Native Irish Tree Trail Project and the ongoing plans for future projects.
Huge thank you to all the young people and their teachers and youth leaders who braved the cold weather to attend. We are already planning next year!
