Manor Street CYP celebrate a fantastic Summer Programme

Manor Street Youth and Community Centre and ChillOUT would like to acknowledge and give a special thank you to the Department of Rural and Community Development and The Dormant Accounts Fund for their support. Throughout 2024, we have been able to offer so many events and activities to the young people of Waterford City because of this support. In June, we ran a week long Pride celebration that culminated in a large event open to all LGBTI+ young people in Waterford and their allies. Towards the end of June a group had the opportunity to attend Dublin Pride and even though the rain didn’t stop for a second, spirits were high and the celebrations joyful.

Throughout July and August had the opportunity to visit new places; Cahir in Co. Tipperary, the Reptile Zoo and Kilkenny Castle in Co. Kilkenny and The Nation Archeological Museum, The Dead Zoo and Stephen’s Green in Dublin City.

Groups of young people also enjoyed a day trip to west Cork and two overnight trips to Woodstown beach, for some outdoor adventure.

The Summer Programme came to a close with a big trip to Emerald Park for 60 young people.

Fun was had, memories were made and a safe place was available to all.

Thank You
