Resilience and Determination Earns Prestigious Garda Youth Award and University Scholarship
Hazel O Sullivan is a member of Clonmel UBU Youth Project. Hazel has overcome significant losses and challenges in her life, yet always has a smile on her face and is mature beyond her years, she is resilient and focused. She plans to become a Garda when her senior cycle is completed.
Hazel was nominated and won the special achievement award at the Tipperary Garda Youth Awards. Not only that,, 2 days after receiving her award, the Chief Superintendent made a call and stated that Hazel had piqued her interest and was very enamoured and impressed by her resilience and tenacity. She saw something in Hazel she said she has not seen in anyone for a long time and needs Hazel on her team, going on to offer Hazel a fully funded scholarship for 4 years in University of Limerick to complete her degree in Criminal Justice. Clonmel CYP could not be more proud of this young lady and have no doubt she will turn her aspirations into achievements. Well done, Hazel.
