Waterford Comhairle n nOg – Youth Conference 2024
On Thursday 14th November- Waterford’s Youth Conference took place in Lawlors Hotel, Dungarvan. Over 160 young people from Schools and Youth Projects from all over county Waterford gathered. Young people were asked to identify the biggest challenges experienced by young people in Waterford today. The top three issues identified were Bullying, Substance Abuse, and Mental Health. Each young person engaged in a consultation on all three topics where they gave their opinions on each topic. Mental Health was voted as the biggest issue and the topic Waterford Comhairle na nOg will continue to work on in 2025.
There were workshops provided by Spunout.ie and Jigsaw. Sinead Gould did energetic dance workshops and young people were even treated to a rap battle with some fantastic raps about Mental Health
