Waterford Comhairle na nOg Youth Conference 2025
On Friday, 21st November young people gather for Waterford Comhairle na nOg’s Annual Youth Conference. The conference took place in The Tower Hotel and was attended by over 170 young people from across the county. This was the largest and best-represented Youth Conference to date. Young people from 13 different schools, 2 alternative education programmes and 8 Youth Projects gathered to discuss the issues affecting young people in Waterford. Young attendees were invited to vote on what they felt was the biggest issues affecting young people in Waterford. Waterford Sports Partnership provided some energetic icebreakers with Workshops from Mad Jessie and TikTok Talent Michael Deady.
Bullying, Drugs & Alcohol, and Youth Spaces emerged as the top concerns. Young people had the chance to explore these topics in depth with peers from across the county. After thoughtful discussion and debate, Drugs & Alcohol was chosen as the focus topic for Waterford Comhairle na nÓg’s work in 2026.
Waterford Comhairle na nOg members updated the attendees on all their activitities in 2025. Young people spoke about their experiences in Waterford. Music on the day was provided by Ali and Squire.
