WHERE ARE WE AT SO FAR??? (WSTCYS MARCH AROUND IRELAND STEPS CHALLENGE)
We are at the end of our 2nd week in March, meaning we are 2 weeks into our March around Ireland Steps Challenge and the involvement and support, so far, has been immense.
It is great to see the young people engaging with the challenge and working as a team to push their project ahead.
Our Community Youth Workers have done a phenomenal job in engaging with the young people, volunteers and their families to get everyone setup on some form of step tracking app and collecting the numbers of steps.
The support from the generous people who spared what they could and donated to our GoFundMe has astounded us all and really showed the support our local communities have for the projects.
Well done to everyone in involved and keep getting those steps in!!!
NOW, the real question that needs answering….WHERE ARE WE AT SO FAR????
Well, I asked the community youth workers to forward on the steps they could collect from each project and I added them together to see how far we have pushed the organisation.
*Drum roll please*
4,474,386 steps
This means that in less than 2 weeks in we have walked around Ireland (4,161,417.32 steps roughly)!!!!!
This is not the time to slow down as the competition still carry’s on and let’s see if we can get around Ireland again by the end of March.
On top of this great achievement by our projects, their young people and families, we have raised €1,877 for the projects!
