On Tuesday, 27th May, the Garda Youth Awards honoured outstanding young people from across the county for their exceptional contributions to their communities. The awards celebrate the positive impact young people are making through leadership, creativity, and community action.

🏆 My Creative Community Group – Commitment to a Greener Future

The “My Creative Community Group” received a Group Award for their inspiring work in promoting sustainability and environmental awareness. Their efforts reflect a strong commitment to building a better, greener future for all.

🌿 PACT Youth Diversion Project – Climate Action Champions

Young people from the Abbeylands area, part of the PACT Youth Diversion Project, were recognised with a Group Award for their hands-on work in climate action. From cleaning public spaces to planting trees, their dedication is shaping a healthier environment for future generations.

🛡️ Waterford Comhairle na nÓg – Advocates for Mental Health & Safety

Waterford Comhairle na nÓg was presented with a Group Award in the Community Safety category. Members have been working tirelessly to improve mental health supports for young people throughout the county, highlighting the importance of safety and well-being in every community.

🌟 Calvin Flynn – A Role Model in Education

Calvin Flynn, a member of the SWAY Youth Diversion Project, received an Individual Award after being nominated by his school. Calvin was praised for his positive attitude and strong focus on education, an inspiration to his peers and community.
