Young people from WSTCYS at this years Garda Youth Awards

The Waterford Garda Youth Awards took place on Friday 19th May in City Hall, Waterford. Young people from accross the county gathered in celvecration of their contribution towards making their community a safer and more inclusive place.

Two young people from WSTCYS were presented with individual awards

Tia Weldon was awarded a Commmunity Safety award for her desire to speak up for others and promote inclusion and diversity in the school and community.

Pearl was awarded an Individual award for her contribution as a Volunteer with Inner City CYP.

Waterford Comhairle na nOg- Comhairle received a group award for  their selfless and dedicated in their efforts to creating an  app and encouraging the local members of the community and organisations to become involved.

Pride of the Deise Youth Committee  were overall winners for the Community Safety Award. The group organised a large event to celebrate Pride 2022 and worked diligently to provide a safe, educational and inclusive space, where all young people were welcome

The TYRE Project won the Pat Noctor Youth overall  Award for their work engaging with their local Direct Provision Centre, they set about making a positive difference in the lives of those who were engaged in the services of the centre.

Well done to all the award winners in recognition of the work they do on a weekly basis.
