Free LGBTI+ Training for Teachers in Waterford

BeLonG To Youth Services, Waterford & South Tipperary Community Youth Service and Ferns Diocesan Youth Service delivered free teacher training in Waterford teachers centre last week. This training was interactive, engaging, and focused on building teachers capacity to meet the needs of LGBTI+ students.

The two-hour Workshop created learning on how to improve LGBTI+ inclusion in education, make your school a friendlier place for LGBTI+ students, and support LGBTI+ students. By learning how to support the needs of LGBTI+ students, teachers can create a safer school environment fostering the wellbeing of all students.

Stand Up week is a campaign run by BelongTo and the Department of Education and Skills and it runs this November from the 11th – 15thof November and Debbie from ChillOUT is looking forward to working with local Waterford schools to end homophobic and transphobic bullying.
